Memorial Oriol de Bolòs

The Espai Cràter is organizing a memorial to celebrate the centenary of the birth of the Olot scientist Oriol de Bolòs, professor of phytography and plant ecology at the University of Barcelona, ​​technical curator and director of the Botanical Institute of Barcelona (1977-1983), member of the management committee of the Institut d’Estudis Catalans in the Science section and then Biological Sciences and personality linked to the Catalan Institute of Natural History. The Oriol Memorial in Bolòs. 100 years since his birth highlights both his contributions in the field of natural sciences and his relationship with the city of Olot and the region of Garrotxa.

The event is the result of the institutional coordination between Espai Cràter and the Catalan Institute of Natural History, the Observatory of Humanities in Medicine, the Botanical Institute of Barcelona, ​​the Patronat d’Estudis Històrics of Olot and Comarca, the Plant Biodiversity Documentation Center of the CRAI of the University of Barcelona, ​​the Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas, the Ateneo de la Universitat de Barcelona, ​​the Catalan Society for the History of Science and of Technology and the Institute of Catalan Studies.
