Escola d’Art i Disseny Project
Espai Cràter’s collaboration with the Olot School of Art and Design began in the participatory process of creating the center and has evolved into this project. It is a long-standing and consolidated link that combines one of the key challenges of the Espai Cràter with the teaching itinerary of the subject Interdisciplinary Projects at ESDAP, which combines the specialties of graphic design and interior design.
In 2022, the students worked on a prototype to create an educational environment for children from 0 to 3 years old in one of the rooms of the Espai Cràter. Five groups were formed, each preparing a project during the entire school semester. Once the preparation period was over, the projects were presented at the Espai Cràter in three phases: the first was about the definition and concretion of the challenge; the second was about the mid-term review of the project to reorient, if necessary, the strategies proposed, and a final one to carry out the definitive evaluations.
In 2023 the ESDAPC students focused on the environment of the Espai Cràter urban park to rethink it as a social and leisure space. On this occasion, they worked in four groups that worked throughout the semester within the framework of the subject. The results of the projects were presented at the Espai Cràter in two sessions: firstly, to show the initial conception of the project; secondly, in which the participants were allowed to present the project’s initial concept; and thirdly, in which they were allowed to show the project’s main ideas.
