If you pay a little attention, it seems that there are more and more protests and more and more complaints. It often seems that we live in a society of endless protest and infinite complaint. However, as we will try to show in this talk, protest is one thing and complaint is another, quite different thing. Both phenomena are interrelated, but they are different. Distinguishing them can help us understand things. With a little goodwill, it can perhaps even help us face them.
