A proposal that invites us to stroll and enjoy a route dotted with circus scenes and performative situations.
Le lichen prend racine comme Rosa prend le bus is a proposal created specifically for each location, the final result of an in-situ creative process. La Compagnie d’iElles will undertake a creative residency in Olot, fostering spaces for exchange, transmission, co-creation and inspiration, with the aim of bringing forth a narrative, an artistic proposal of contemporary circus. Le lichen prend racine comme Rosa prend le bus is an interpretation of our landscape from an artistic, inclusive and ecofeminist perspective. A series of poetic actions and situations that seek to repair silences, create spaces for dialogue and bring forgotten stories to light.
Based in Occitania since 2004, la Compagnie d’iElles is closely linked to the work of Yaëlle Antoine, trained at the Annie Fratellini circus school and at Esacto-Lido. Public space is for her a privileged artistic terrain that allows her to materialise her social and political concerns through mediation actions and artistic acts. For Lames Sœurs, co-written with Paola Rizza, she received the Beaumarchais Prize (2007). In 2014 she created the show Be Felice, Hippodrame urbain, her first wandering piece with headphones. Liesse(s) (2021) marked a turning point in relation to previous projects, driven by the desire to propose a purely choreographic form. Yaëlle Antoine co-writes with Sarah Simili the triennial project Reboot, focused on critical and inclusive pedagogies and their applications in circus arts.
