The Espai Cràter is a Documentation Point of the Garrotxa Volcanic Zone Natural Park, the result of collaboration between institutions, which has been in place for years and was formalized in 2022 with the signing of the agreement between the City Council of Olot and the Department of Climate Action, Food, and Rural Agenda.

The Espai Cràter Documentation Point has some 500 research materials, books, articles, magazines, leaflets, and games, which are renewed monthly and deal with the following subjects: landscape, fauna and flora, agriculture and livestock, protected areas, land management, hydrology, soils, environmental education, sustainable tourism, environmental impact, sustainable architecture, climate change, heritage, among others.

Located on the first floor of the building (Seismic Zone), the Documentation Point of the Garrotxa NP in the Espai Cràter has a space enabled for better consultation. You can consult the opening hours of the center here.

How it works?

The Documentation Centre of the Natural Park deals with queries at the Documentation Point of the Espai Cràter. It offers different personalized queries, which can be made by email or on-site at the Espai Cràter. In the latter case, prior booking is always necessary by calling 972 26 46 66 or sending an email to wgrabolo@gencat.cat.

The consultations offered are:

• Lots of thematic documents on loan for technicians or teachers (Fill in this form).

• Research support for students

• Donated publications for companies, schools, or environmentally responsible entities.

• Basic information for tourists and family audiences who want a higher level of information than what is available in the information centers.
