Olot City Council uses Espai Cràter to support research in the social and human sciences and the natural sciences through the City of Olot Scholarships, which are made available once every year and comprise the Ernest Lluch Scholarship in Social and Human Sciences, and the Oriol de Bolós Scholarship in Natural Sciences.

This latter grant is intended for research and publications in all those fields related to the natural environment, it also focuses on the region.
