Volcanology Month
This 2024, we are extending the programming of the Week of Volcanology and presenting the Month of Volcanology. This extended program includes a walk with experts, an unprecedented opportunity to learn about the county’s volcanoes with explanations from experts; the presentation of CRÁTER 360 with the advisory committee and audiovisual producers; and other activities for all audiences aimed at knowledge of the Garrotxa Volcanic Zone.
Since 2021, the Espai Cràter has been organizing Volcanology Week, a series of activities highlighting the volcanic landscape of La Garrotxa and promoting scientific dissemination. The first three editions of Volcanology Week, organized in October, coincided with the international postgraduate course in volcanology in Olot, organized by the Fundació d’Estudis Superiors d’Olot (FES), the UdG Foundation: innovation and training and the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC).
The proposals of the first edition, which coincided with the time of the volcanic eruption on the island of La Palma, reached more than 500 people. You can recover the talks on our YouTube channel.
